Spring Simplicity for the mantel

Spring simplicity for the mantel……It seems the less I fuss about life and stuff in general lately, things just have a way of working out in my seasonal decor. And better yet, if you take one long around your home, you probably have everything you need to create a look that’s perfect for the season or holiday, without having to buy new stuff to decorate with.

I have always considered myself a ‘go with the flow’ laid back kinda gal, particularly when we moved out to the country….it’s just the way it is, but lately that feeling is really resonating with me and in particular with the decorating choices that I am making around the house. How I styled my mantel for the spring season, is a pretty good example of that.

I believe you begin to have a greater appreciation for your things and what you have in your home, when your lens is less cloudy. When there are not so many expectations on how things should be or how they should look.  Real beauty shouldn’t be complicated or fussy as demonstrated by my Spring simplicity for the mantel. Don’t you agree?

  1. Pretty Laura, great collection. I need to learn not to fuss too much. It's strange but I think I do it to show I'm doing things because I'm sick. Thanks for the wake up. I generally don't like too fussy either. Christmas I do fuss

  2. This looks beautiful, Laura! I love your "simplicity" and that's something I really strive for (It's hard!!!). I am going to take my bunnies down today and I hope I can get my mantel somewhat cleaned up. You inspire me!

  3. Laura…the mantel is beautiful….I have come to learn that I am appreciating the more simplistic forms of decor…and feel that when I dress an area without much forethought it seems like they turn out the best….I feel that you truly have your priorities in the right place…you devote your time to what truly counts and everything else falls into place…Bravo Laura!
