The Perfect Rug for the Family.... room - Duke Manor Farm by Laura Janning

I had every intention of sharing my family room when we finished planking the ceiling ( that’s here if you want to see it) over a year ago, but something in the space never felt right. Like it wasn’t really ready to be called finished. Between changing out pillows multiple times and swapping out a number of rugs, I could never pull it together to the place that I wanted the room to be and the vision I had in my head for the room all along. But that all changed the other day when Mohawk sent me the perfect rug for the family…room.

I say family…room for two reasons. First the obvious. The blues with a vintage vibe in this American Rug Craftsmen EverStrand Berkshire Paxon Rug from Kohls is perfect with in the room. It grounds the brown sectional and works so well with my pillows. The second, which is not as obvious, is how super soft the rug feels to the 50 toes that step on it each day. Really. This is one of the softest rugs I have ever stepped on and that’s saying a lot since it is only resting on a stone floor with just a jute rug underneath with no rug pad between.

We have a no eat policy in this space, for the simple fact that my kids are messy, but when the occasional cookie or snack has been smuggled in, any evidence can be vacuumed up easily since the pile of the rug is fairly short. Don’t want any oreo crumbs living in the carpet …….
