Minimal Fall Decorating in the Dining Room

Minimal Fall Decorating in the Dining Room

Fall has finally made any appearance around Duke Manor Farm….indoors and outdoors. And the subtle changes indoors are just enough to usher in my favorite season. Just like the rest of the house this fall, I decided to sit back and let nature take over outside instead of going gang busters with indoor fall decor. You can see more of my fall home herehere and here.

Minimal vs blah

I teeter between a minimal look without looking too boring and blah in my home decor. I try my best to bring in just enough color and texture without totally missing the season I was decorating for. A few dried florals on the sideboard ( which is actually on loan from the Den) add some visual height and fall color. On the table I added some white candles that I placed in clear vases, so not to distract my amazing glass chandelier .

This print called Mornings Away from Minted is one of my favorites.  My other favorite Sky Pebbles , is the one that I have hanging here. When I make some changes to this room later this year ( replace the wallpaper, stain the table, get a sideboard), the print will probably be moving to another location in the house.

The subtle additions in my Dining Room give me just enough of the feels for fall. Besides, I have less to dust when I am cleaning the house and put away when Christmas rolls around. You with me?

A little love story

Speaking of feels, I’ll leave you with a little love story.  The first time my hubby told me he loved me he carved it on the inside of the leg of the table.  At first I thought “this guy is cra-cra” when I saw him with a little pocket knife laying on the floor, doing something to the leg of the table. Needless to say and almost 20 years later, he was a keeper….so was the table.
