Happy Thanksgiving to all my readers celebrating this week. What a gift to be able to set aside a day to celebrate and give thanks for all the amazing blessings, family and friends in our lives. I want to also thank you for showing up here at Duke Manor Farm. Whether it’s to be inspired, chuckle at my real life funny farm or to see which room I’m painting over, your comments and support mean so much to me. And for that I am grateful.

Using a New color this year…..Blush

I decided to shake things up around here with my color scheme and use blush, blues and silvers. I was inspired by some pillows that I recently bought that had pink and blues in it.The kids were actually confused as to what holiday I was decorating for, since they have only known red. No worries though, red does make an appearance this year.

We will stick to our tradition and get our family tree on Friday. The plan is to cut it this year. After that I will get the house photographed and begin sharing my holiday home with you beginning next week. Until then, I am laying low and enjoying this family of mine that I am so grateful and blessed to have.

I hope you have a lovely Thanksgiving day surrounded by the people that you love.

  1. I like the teaser shot of blush, but I love your red too! And the porch. Glad I dont have to choose…..Could I please ask what type of tree is shown on the last photo? The one of the porch and the tree with burgundy leaves. A type of crape myrtle? Thanks, and have a blessed Thanksgiving.

    1. thank you! if you are talking about the one in the white vase it’s actually a faux purple hydrangea. The trees on the ground are one’s I have had for years from Balsam Hill. i hope you have a lovely thanksgiving!

      1. Thanks , no I meant the real deciduous tree growing in the landscaping near the front porch. It has purplish red leaves and is half hidden behind the porch pillar in the left side of your last photo. Beautiful! Have had to remove trees from Irma damage and looking for some new ones for our yard. Yours is lovely!

  2. I think pink and red look nice together so why not incorporate both for a fresh new look.
Happy Thanksgiving to you & yours!
