The Finished Kitchen at Duke Manor Farm

The finished kitchen at Duke Manor Farm….sorta… kind of… well almost.
So, after many months of contemplating whether to paint the cabinets ( after 11 years it was time to address the wear and tear), researching how to paint them, choosing paint colors, painting the back splash, sanding every square inch, priming every square inch, and painting the cabinets, I am thrilled to share our “brighter” kitchen.

I will save all the details of our painting ‘took longer then expected adventure’, the budget for our project and the before and after pictures, in another post. I thought the slew of pictures was enough for today.
But…… just in case your the anxious type, like me….here’s a before and after or you can click here for the original Kitchen Tour. For my last Summer Home Tour click here. Ha…. I have been too busy painting to do one this year!

  1. Gorgeous, gorgeous … such an amazing transformation! I know you were glad to put down that paint brush and sprayer!

  2. Great transformation, Laura! I know that was a ton of work — great job! My kitchen cabinets are getting painted in the next few weeks and I'm sooo excited! Can you tell me where you got your cabinet hardware? Love the bin pulls you used. I've been looking at so many lately that my head is spinning! 🙂

  3. It's beautiful, Laura. I need to show this to J. I would really like to have our cabinets painted. Something we would have to hire done at this stage of the game, but I really think it would be great.

    Fabulous inspiration!!

  4. Wow Laura!!!….the kitchen is gorgeous!!!….I love the new lighter, brighter look….and love the colors in the sitting area….your hard work paid off with this most dreamy kitchen!!…You are one amazing person!!…

  5. Laura it is like night and day in there! Your kitchen turned out amazing and so worth all the hard work you and your hubby put into it. I know you will enjoy it for many years to come.

  6. Wow! That is an amazing transformation. I love the new white color throughout. I bet the kitchen feels bigger too.

  7. The whole room looks so happy. Now I liked it before, the wood and warmth, but the new color shows off that floor and still warms the area up, and the counter tops show off as well as all your decorating. I'd say it is a huge win.

  8. Laura!!! Oh my word it looks sooooooo gorgeous!! It's bright and beautiful and makes me want to paint my kitchen even more now. 🙂 I LOVE it. Well done girl!

  13. Oh Laura, you did an amazing job! It's gorgeous — and I know how much time and work you guys put into it to do it the right way.

Do tell — is that chandelier over the island new? Or am I just seeing it in a new light? And I love those stools, too. Were they a makeover or did you buy them that way?

I know you're just loving your gorgeous new kitchen.

Color me inspired — and impressed1

  15. Breathtaking! So incredibly gorgeous Laura! Not even the same kitchen as before. We desperately need to paint our oak cabinets… I know after it's done, I'll be wondering why I waited so long…I'm just not sure I can paint all 23 cabinets myself… My husband wants to have them professionally sprayed… I don't want to spend the money on that.

  16. I NEED the details because you inspire me! This is one of my summer projects I am hoping to accomplish!!!

  17. Phenomenal transformation, Laura. It looks like a different kitchen entirely. I love it and know you do, too. GREAT job-and I KNOW how much work that was. xo Diana
