The Secret To A Healthy Life…… and a Giveaway

As you may or may not know, I am no spring chicken. I have plenty of young chickens on the farm…but I am not one of them.  But that’s okay. Those young chicks have a hard time keeping up with me anyways.
What’s not okay though, is not taking care of me and my health. I try really hard to create a balanced lifestyle for myself and my family and trust me…it’s not always easy. Especially when all these fields will eventually need to be cut, the animals fed and being there for my kids, as a mom. And as tired as I may be some days…I do what I need to do to stay healthy …and to keep those feet looking good.
I could tell you that the secret to my healthy life is kinda like running through a field of daisies…if it makes me happy I do it. See if I am healthy, I am happy. If I am happy, my husband is happy. If my husband is happy, the family is happy…  You get the picture.
In addition to running…through the daisies, I am committed to good health by taking vitamins everyday. The vitamin that has provided me a lot of benefit in reaching my commitment to good health is vitafusion™.  Honestly, I am not a huge fan of vitamins that take an hour to muster up the courage to swallow, cuz they are huge, or the smell is not so pleasant (you know the ones I’m talking about), so these are perfect because they look and taste like gummies… but just for me.
Each morning as I sit down with my morning hot tea and start my day, I take 2 MultiVites, but vitafusion™ gummy vitamins come in a variety of vitamins, minerals and other dietary supplements that may help adults meet their health and nutrition needs*. In fact they have vitamins and supplements to meet your health needs through every stage of life including men, women, pregnant women and those 50+.  Another product benefit, vitafusion™ products are made in the USA. I love that, just like I love my daisies!

You can find vitafusion™  gummy vitamins at club stores, mass merchandisers, drug and grocery stores nationwide including: Costco, Walmart, Target and Walgreens. More information can be found at www.gummyvites.com.
I am not giving away any of my daisies today, although you are welcome to come run through them with me,  but I am giving away a $100 Visa gift card. Just leave me a comment telling me one way you maintain a healthy lifestyle. That’s it. Easy, just like taking a vitafusion vitamins each day.
Good luck and here’s to your health!

grateful for~
good health

  1. I work out at a local fitness center 2-3 times a week. I also try to eat healthy which is hard to do sometimes with all the yummy breads and ice cream available. Would love to win the gift certificate. Love your blog.

  2. I garden every almost every day, try to eat organic when available, drink tons of water and I always make the time to just relax and enjoy the moment, (mental health just as important as physical).

  3. What a great post for someone like me "another non-spring chicken with four little ones". I do green smoothies for breakfast and the children are starting to love them as well. In the beginning I would drink them out of a non-see through cup, but now i'm used to the fluorescent green and it doesn't bother me anymore.

  4. Myself and my co-worker walk at least 30 minutes everyday at lunch. When our schedule permits we walk for at least an hour after work. It's one small way we try to stay healthy.

  5. I walk everyday, whether it is shopping or not, just walking. I also take 2 Citracal in the morning along with Magnesium and then the same things at supper time. Seems to make me feel better.

  6. I take those vitamins too!! I have a hard time swallowing pills so they work well for me. And I take the stairs at work and eat very little red meat. (Still working on reducing sugar and drinking more water, though…..)

  7. I am not familiar with these and will have to try them out…My hubby and I try very hard to lead a healthy lifestyle..(well, my hubby more than me!)….Trying to take my hubby's lead by eliminating gluten from our diet….

  8. I take vitamins when I remember and eat a mostly vegan diet. I drink lots of water and decaf unsweet tea. I seriously just try to eat as many whole foods as I can.

  9. Love your blog! I eat lots of fish and veggies, but the best thing I do is work outside with the horses, nothing like them for taking you away from your everyday doldrums.

  10. We try to eat well and get outside to get exercise.

  11. Well, I am happy to say I am juicing again and it is a healthy choice for me. I also am OFF sugar (which is addictive to me). IF I have to grab a bite while I am out- I am eating salads instead of burgers and fries. Ya think I would just waste away to nothing, wouldn't you? No such luck with THAT!!! xo Diana

  12. It's a life long battle but I spend lots of time outdoors in the garden getting a workout with the tasks, getting sunshine & fresh air for my mental health.

  13. I try to stay healthy by eating a lot of fruits and vegetables, taking a multivitamin daily and walking daily.

  14. We shop the Farmers' Market most Saturdays and incorporate the in-season veggies & fruits into our diet during the week.

  15. EVERY morning I spend an hour doing stretches as well as exercises. I drink a lot of water (with a slice of lemon), trying hard to not eat processed foods, sugar and don't eat breads. Basically a low carb diet with lots of veggies. Walk two miles a day, when weather permits & my hip bursitis isn't flaring up.

  16. One way I maintain a healthy lifestyle is to take my exercise schedule seriously, must exercise daily even for just 10 or 15 minutes.

  17. I really struggle with this. I tend to burn the candle at both ends and everything suffers. I've started with a mind shift and remembering each day to make better choices…sometimes it is moment to moment. My biggest support is reminding myself of advice from friends and family and just getting through the challenge in front of me. It's like i have little cheerleaders in my head.

  18. I drink lots of water and eat balanced meals most of the time.
