Flip Flop Gardner- My Obsession With Knock Out Roses

Who wouldn’t want this rose that is cold
tolerant to zone 5, is heat tolerant throughout the U.S, thrives in just about any area in the country and is
reliably
resistant to disease ?
Who wouldn’t want this rose that produces multiple blooms every 5 to 6 weeks
from spring until the first hard frost?
Who would’nt want this rose that produces beautiful Pink or Red Blooms?

Who wouldn’t want this rose that grows to
about 3′ wide x 4′ tall,  easily maintained  through pruning and ideal
for growing in mixed borders,
containers or as a hedge ?

Who wouldn’t want this rose that is easy to grow and doesn’t need a lot of attention particularly when planted in full sun, with well drained and fertile soil? Just like our ovens, these roses are self cleaning so there is no need to remove the faded or spent flowers. One less thing you have to take care of when your are in the garden!

Come back later this week where I show you how put a simple flower arrangement together using these beautiful blooms.

Happy Gardening!

  1. Yep, they are the only roses I can get to live. I found all four of mine on clearance at Lowes last year. They are very easy and mine have grown big fast. Thanks for the tips on how to keep them looking good Laura! Have a great day 🙂

  2. Laura, my hand is up! I want them. I'll be back to see your arrangements. I can't get enough of roses. Thanks for stopping by Quirky Vistas. You are right about $1 and $5 projects meaning lots of work, but it seems the way of any project. I'd rather spend time than money. Go figure. Come visit again!

  3. I'm moving in late June to a new home and Knock-Out roses are on my list of things to buy. Can't wait to add these babies to my landscape!

  4. I'll be looking forward to the arrangement post. We have tons of shrub roses and in 20 years I think I've only clipped and brought them in the house a couple times.

  5. I had to see my internist this week. And I told him I'd hurt my hands by digging my gardens. He said he loved knock out roses. I've got to get one!
