I Didn’t like Winter Until….

The Winter Season has always typically been my least favorite time of the year, until yesterday that is….

See, I am not a big fan of frigid temperatures, having to layer clothes to go outside or witnessing nature going dormant for a few months, well until yesterday…..

Tucked next to my birdbath here, my Camellia bush continues to shower me with beautiful color when other’s refuse to or simply don’t because it’s too cold.

So as of yesterday, after being consumed by this beauty, I have changed my mind and will learn to like Winter only until my Camellia stops blooming it’s vibrant pink petals with it’s shiny green leaves or until Spring arrives, whichever comes first.

How about you, are you a big fan of the cold or ready to put your flip flops on?

Grateful for~
To be able to walk outside and see this beautiful bush when there is no other color around, even in the cold!

  1. I've never been a big fan of winter either, Laura. Summer has always been my favorite season, but now that I've entered that certain stage of life that brings hot flashes with it, I've come to appreciate the colder temps! lol Anyway, I love, love, love camellias and you are so fortunate to have them!

  2. Oh, Laura….I just love Camellias. They are our state flower here in Alabama, and I *heart* them. Yours are such a pretty color! Thanks for sharing them with us.

    I'm ready for flip flops, but I need a pedi first…. ;P

  3. So pretty and I'm jealous! I love the snow. We haven't had any here yet. Just cold. Not a fan of cold without snow. I do love layering clothes, cross-country skiing and snowmen! A comfy sweater is one of my favorite things!

  4. I'm probably in the minority but I love winter. I think because my summers are so hot, I enjoy the other extreme. I need to plant some camelias though. They really are gorgeous.

  5. Beautiful flowers and I am so jealous I am about to pack my bags and run away from home. Do you know that we got all the way up to ZERO degrees today? ugh xo Diana

  6. I actually like the cold for a while — I'll be over it by mid-February, though. Just give me some time to wear my chunky sweaters and riding boots… and we gotta kill off all those bugs anyway, right?
