The newest editions to our family

A couple of weeks ago I introduced you to the newest members of our household. Six week baby kitties that we had adopted from the county animal rescue. Since then, a lot has happened to our nameless fury friends.

It was important that the kids feel like these are their new pets and part of their responsibility was to come up with the names for the kitties. After a lot of conversation and discussion around the family dinner table they had decided on what they wanted to call the kittens.
Let me introduce Rainbow.
And White Paws
It’s been fun capturing some images of the “firsts” just like a mama does with her own babies.
Like……… trying to sneak out for the first time.
Like…….going outside on the grass for the first time.
Like….meeting the family dog for the first time.
Like ….being cuddled to sleep for the first time.
And finally……. saluting the flag for the first time.
Unfortunately due to my severe allergies with cats, my thanks to bendryal, Rainbow and White Paws will be hanging out in our breezeway for a few more weeks and then moving into their own diggs up at the shop where they will be free to roam around, decorate anyway they please and do their own housework.
Not a bad life I might add.

Grateful for~
Freedom

  1. MUM! It's not socks it's PAWS ;).
    Blame it on bendryal…

The endearing way you rescue and welcome those animals speak wonders of the loving home you created and live in.

They'll love the shop. Cats – and men 😀 – love to live unsupervised ahahahahah and that way they can bring all kittens to the shop defusing the expected "what are your intentions to the gal?" from you.

Lovely, lovely, the cuddle pic. A kindred spirit with pink nails

  2. Laura, You are such a good, good "mama" to those babies. Look at your little girl holding that sweet baby as it sleeps. Ummm…love the names..they would probably call me "Crazy Blond Hair Lady"….lol xo Diana

  3. this post gets the AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW award!!!!! I love it love it love it…you and your family warm my heart Ghandi said: "The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way in which its animals are treated." Your family is sure a reflection of that : ) Sending hugs and love …Opt to Adopt…love it when those words become true : )

  4. How adorable they are! I know so many people that are allergic to cats. You will be better off without them if you suffer like that. I just loved the pic with the kitten meeting your dog.
