The Gift of Friendship.. ..getting wet and having fun!

I wonder what you will think in 20 years when you look back on this day…

Will you remember how we went to my favorite place, “The Shoals,” when your family came to visit me over that summer?
Will you remember how scared you were to go into that murky water  because you couldn’t see anything on the bottom, but you were okay when I told you it was only like that because of all the rain that we were having?
Will you remember how cold the water was when we first put our feet in and you said that you didn’t want to go in, but somehow I convinced you that it would warm up ?
Will you remember how fast the water was rushing by us and how hard it was to hear each other although we could hear the laughter and giggles and we saw the smiles on each other’s faces especially when you fell in?
Will you remember the pact that we made if we thought we needed each other…I promised to grab your hand and you would grab mine?
Will you remember how safe we both felt taking risks in those rapids knowing that we were right there to support each other if we felt scared or unsure of what to do ?

Will you remember having the best time of our lives that day?

My son’s recollection of his childhood friend doesn’t differ much from the friendships that transpired between Winnie the Pooh, a boy named Christopher Robbin, a rabbit and other treasured friends in the Hundred Acre Woods.
The bond of friendship. The gift of problem solving. The sense of adventure.  Being there to lend a helping hand, even if it meant being stuck in a hole for a week.  Those same principles that I remember from my childhood friends are the same principles now being instilled in my children’s relationships.
Now we can watch this timeless classic together or with friends. The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh will be available for the first time on Blu-ray Combo Pack and HD Digital on August 27th .
Watching Winnie The Pooh with my children helps to solidify the importance of those friendships and how meaningful they are and will become, just like they were to Winnie the Pooh and his friends…. and that day at the Shoals….even in that cold water.  To learn more about release of this adventurous and timeless film, hop on over to their website or Facebook page.
Now, to enter for a chance to win a $50 Visa Gift Card and a Winnie The Pooh Blu-ray Combo Pack, share with us the importance of friendship, imagination and adventure in your child’s life…

Watching the excitement in his face when taking him to the beach for the first time & his laughter when he is sitting in the wet sand waiting for the water to reach his toes. It puts a smile to my face each time he is fascinated by a new experience.
