My New Years Party

This year my husband and I will ring in the new year like we usually do…… In our typically New Years Eve fashion.

We will be drinking champagne from the same glasses that we first toasted at our wedding , not in some fancy gown or tux, probably just a pair of gap sweats and bunny slippers.
And while we are watching the crystal ball drop from Times Square in New York, we can look up at our own glass balls hanging from the light…..without the crowds and noise.

The table will be surrounded by Dollar Store party favors that I embellished with a little feather and fabric to match my Hobby Lobby bandannas that I used as napkins. Get all the details here.

And as usual we will get some takeout…Chinese food, skip the cookies and talk about our own fortunes and misfortunes that happened over the last year, and all the things we hope to accomplish in the New Year.

Year after year, it’s the most sought after party in town!
How will you be welcoming the New Year? Bunny slippers or fancy gown?

Happy New Year to you and those that you love. I hope 2014 is everything that you want it to be…..and more!

  2. We are homebodies on New Year's Eve. I'm too chicken to go driving around with all the drinkers. Guess that's what happens when you're married to a fireman. You just hear and see too much. I will be more like you and be in comfy clothes with the TV on. I'm just happy that my husband doesn't have to work that night. There have many nights when we didn't get to bring in the new year together. Love your cute decorations. Hope you have a nice time tomorrow night!

  3. Definitely sweats and bunny slippers here, too! We are actually heading to a party at our next door neighbor's house, but it will be super casual and will break up way before midnight because we all have kids to get to bed. So, we'll watch the ball drop — or Kathy embarrass Anderson on CNN — from our couch! Chinese takeout sounds good; we might have to borrow your tradition. Wishing you a very happy 2014; may your fortunes far outweigh your misfortunes. I think of your beautiful niece often an pray for continued comfort for you, your sister and the entire family.
