My Glamping Experience in a treehouse in Gatlinburg Tennessee what you need to know, bring, and how to get there.

My Glamping Experience in Gatlinburg Tennessee

Last month I had the opportunity to go Glamping in Gatlinburg for a few days in an open-air treehouse. It was the cutest treehouse ever! I say treehouse loosely because I’m not sure it was actually built entirely in a tree, but glamping it was.

Inside the Treehouse

Camp LeConte is a small resort located 4 miles from downtown Gatlinburg and adjacent to the Smoky Mountains National Park. We have been to Gatlinburg several times and this was our first time staying outside of the downtown area. I actually loved the calmness, although the area wasn’t too crowded.  Camp LeConte offers a unique way of camping. There are two luxury treehouses, safari tents ( that looked super cool), and even two retro campers.

Our treehouse had a queen bed (or maybe it was a full) and a full loft that could sleep, two adults. It had blankets, linens, towels, and toiletries.  I brought some extra towels and toiletries for our 4-night stay . The treehouse also had a modern bathroom with plenty of hot water.

Outside the Treehouse

Outside the treehouse where we spent most of our time while at the camp, we had chairs, a fire pit area, a grill, and a table. You can buy some firewood at the Camp office but I brought some from home along with charcoal/lighter fluid for the grill.

There were plenty of trees to hang our hammocks.  For less than $20 bucks you can’t beat these hammocks where we chilled, read, and napped.

Camp LeConte also offers full hook-up RV sites and an area if you are tent camping. All the sites have a fire pit and grill. The camp store has a bathhouse and a place to do your laundry. Next to the camp store is a heated pool, playground, small library, cornhole, and ping pong table. I noticed how super clean everything was, the laundry, bathrooms, and the grounds of the resort. My only complaint ( if there is one) is some of the road noise early in the morning. Although living in the country has spoiled me with no noise at all. So if you like the idea of sleeping in, although who does that when camping…. bring some ear plugs.

If glamping in a treehouse isn’t your thing, I  highly recommend this hotel in Gatlinburg.

Have you ever been glamping and or stayed in a treehouse? Looking for recommendations, as I think this can seriously be a thing for me.

Happy Glamping!

  1. Tree house glamping is very cool. Townsend Tennessee is very quiet and offers glamping Tents too; however, this would be the first for treehouse camping.
