Breakfast Room Cabinet Refresh

I am a firm believer that 3rd time is a charm, as is 4th, 5th ,6th…….. Just ask my breakfast room cabinets, they’ll tell you.

And if you ask the cabinets, they will blame the painting on the kitchen, who will blame it on the scratches and dings, who will blame it on the kids, who will blame it on the dog ( who did not eat the homework by the way), who will blame it on me for wanting to paint them in the first place.

Actually, this refresh was done not because I was bored and had absolutely nothing to do, but rather, with my recent kitchen cabinet changes, I wanted  these cabinets to be the same color as the kitchen island…..Martha Stewart Nimbus Gray.

And so, that’s my story….. and I am sticking to it.
What’s your story when it comes to re-painting furniture multiple times?

  1. The cabinet looks great in this new color. I know you had previously painted it in AS chalk paint & also waxed it. Did you have to do any special prepping before painting it this time because of the chalk paint & wax?

  2. Very nice! I have not painted much furniture wise. Just a few pieces recently. My husband will not let me paint our kitchen cupboards, so they will always be plain wood. He seems to think they are made of so expensive wood….idk. Anyway, we do have vintage already been painted a million times cupboards along one wall in our laundry that needs to be freshened up. It just seems like such a big job. Someday I will get to those! Keep inspiring me with all your painted cupboards, lol!

  6. Love, love, love !!! So soft and purdy :-). Your shelves are great too. I tend to put wayyyy too much on mine and they look cluttered over time because I want to see everything that means something to me all around me. It makes me feel good :-). You have a perfect balance.

  7. Laura I swear you are like the Energizer Bunny, LOL, do you ever sit down or for that matter sleep??? These came out great and I can't wait to see them with the kitchen. So hurry up and get this project finished, LOL!!!

  12. Laura, the cabinets are so beautiful painted with the new color, and they are styled to perfection! Love how you brought in texture with the lamp shade and the baskets. And the paint just emphasizes the beauty of your wood floors and table! Pinning!

  13. The cabinets look great, and there's no such thing as too much repainting. It's an inexpensive way to redecorate and keeps things looking fresh. Good work.
