Jazz Up the Thanksgiving Table with Craft Paper and Stencil

For the most part I have only used stencils on a wall. My not always creative mind never took me beyond that.  But today, I want to share an idea to Jazz Up the Thanksgiving Table with Craft Paper and Stencil.

This idea started with a large roll of brown paper left over from this project, was looking for a purpose. I decided to use a stencil on the paper and create runners for my thanksgiving table.

If I didn’t tell you that once upon a time my table runner was brown craft paper, you would have thought that I bought this gold Ikat print runner. Right? You may have caught a glimpse of the ‘I can’t believe that’s brown craft paper’ runner here, when I posted about my ‘Thankful’ garland.

 Steps

Start by cutting your paper to the dimensions of your desired runner size.

Spray paint one entire side of the paper, and let dry completely.

Place your stencil at one end of your runner and begin applying your gold paint.

I am a firm believer that less is more when it comes to applying paint to your stencil . You don’t want your brush/roller to be heavily saturated in paint. You can avoid alot of bleed through and mess.
When you are done with one section carefully apply the stencil to the new section by lining it up with the design. This will ensure a consistent pattern in your runner.

Once you have covered your paper, trim the excess with some scissors and you ready to lay it out on your table.

Now let’s eat! But shhhh….don’t tell anyone it’s paper!
