Office Makeover… and the prettiest shade of blue

I am excited to share my office makeover, using the prettiest shade of blue with you today. About 6 months ago, and somewhere in between a slew of other projects that I really needed to get done around the house, I bought a beautiful blue rug on-line during a semi annual sale….even though nothing in the house was this shade of blue. In fact, I actually bought 2 blue rugs to try in this space, loved this one for here and ended up using the other in another room, which I am currently working on.

Two months later it was time to color match  from the rug, and paint my credenza which I showed you here. The blue that I chose is a mix between a navy and royal blue and appropriately called Dignity Blue by SW. It is such a beautiful color.

Next came applying the patterned wall paper that I just love, which was a perfect color of blue to the wall and bookcase. I got the paper from the same place that I got Lily’s fabulous bedroom wallpaper here….. and the room evolved from there.
You can see more of my wall paper tips here.

This space with it’s beautiful shades of blues and various patterns throughout the room, just makes me want to do my happy dance when I am sitting down and paying bills….yup, that happy.

Especially when I glance over at the self portraits that the twins gave me for Christmas.

Pure sweetness. Tongue sticking out and all. See what I mean?
