Monday Musings- Best scent for summer, garden produce and a birthday celebration

Today will mark the second day that the kids have been back to school. Friday, I walked around dazed and confused not knowing what to do with myself and hearing screams that really didn’t exist….. although I did manage a well needed mani and pedi.

We celebrated the twins 6th birthday last week with a party at the house. The kids had an amazing time with this water slide that we rented for the day.

My garden is out of control this month with tomatoes and green peppers. Last month it was cucumbers. One day I am going to learn how to can….or set up a vegetable stand in the front of the property.
I was out buying teacher gifts last week and happened to pick one of these up for myself. I am addicted to this smell. Absolutely divine. Bath and Body. They are on sale right now and they burn nice, slow and clean.

Speaking of school, the kids managed some pretty decent smiles for early morning pictures on the way out the door. The smiles were even bigger when I picked them up later that day….so was mine.

Well, I guess I it’s time to finally get this house cleaned after 2 1/2 months of slacking off.
I will be back later this week with 2 easy back to school ideas for the teacher and for the student.

Have an amazing week!

grateful~

patient and kind teachers this year for the kids

  1. I planted a garden for the first time this year and I picked my first tomato yesterday. I planted late and we are in CT so things are later up here. I also taught myself how to can this year. I bought a book and so far I made strawberry jam, peach & apricot jam, tomato & onion jam, and pickled beets. I am waiting for my string beans to come in so I can make dilly beans. I should also say I am now retired and loving every minute of it.
