How to boost your confidence even though you want to hide….. and a giveaway

I’m excited to share a post with you today that’s all about staying confident… even when you’re battling a cold sore and don’t feel or act like yourself.  When a special occasion is approaching, I don’t want a cold sore to dampen my spirits or slow me down.  That is why I keep Abreva® on hand to treat my cold sore at the very first sign. Read below to discover other simple ways you can keep your confidence high.

As much as this post is about cold sores treatment, it is also about how to feel your best even when you want to just hide and not be seen. I have been there. I get it. Not exactly your crowning moment.
Cold sores have plagued me more than once in my life. The mere onset of one, immediately changes my demeanor and attitude… quickly.  Insecurities are front and center.

As I got older I realized that my beauty and how people saw me was not being judged by a mere sore, my body size or the color of my hair. My confidence is what defines my beauty. I learned that regardless of an imperfection that I was temporarily sporting around, my ability to not hide from those imperfections is what people saw.

I realized that I needed to put a plan together to help build confidence, when confidence wasn’t there. Here are some things that have worked for me.

Change the way you think. Instead of looking in a mirror and immediately freaking out about your imperfection, accept it and do something about it. I am sure that what you see is a far bigger deal to you then anyone who will see you.
Smile.  Did you know that smiling reduces stress, which is actually a trigger for cold sores. It also ups your immune system. Smiling makes us more attractive to those around us… with or without our imperfections.
Invest in your overall health and appearance. Eat right and exercise regularly. Pay attention to what you are wearing. It’s a lot easier to feel good about ourselves when we think we look, so put a little effort into feeling put together. You can still look fabulous in your tee shirt and jeans, just don’t wear your jammies to the store. Be true to YOU. It’s really hard to be confident when we’re trying to be someone we’re not. You have imperfections. So what. Everybody does. Now move on.

So back to where I started, what I use when I get a cold sore:

You could knock out your cold sore in 2.5 days*. Only Abreva® can do it, when you treat at the first sign**. Try Abreva® Cream during your next cold sore.  Click here to learn more about Abreva® cream.

  13. In my younger days, I was filled with confidence and rarely doubted myself. But now that I am older and the "senior moments" seem to crowd my day, I find myself worrying more about how I am perceived by others. I tell myself that I am the critical one and people will accept you as you are if you accept and love yourself. So I take a deep breath, put on a smile and face whatever is causing me bother.
