Monday Musings at Duke Manor Farm

Thanks for joining me for Monday Musings at Duke Manor Farm. I was so blessed to have a good friend that lives in Texas that I have not seen in 13 years, come and spend the weekend with us. We chatted and laughed just like we use to. It was like no time had gone by. She is such a beautiful soul!

This candle smells absolutely divine throughout the house. It’s from Bath and Body Works.  What I love about the candle, beside the scent is that it burns clean.

I swear my skin feels like it’s 12 again….okay maybe 14. I have been using this No 7 serum for a few months now. I have seen a real difference with my skin tone balancing out and firming up. It’s from the Boots Company. I picked the serum up at Target and use it 2 times a day before I put on my moisturizer.

I was involved in a little bit of retail therapy the other day and picked up this driftwood tray from Kirkland’s.  The tray is so pretty, even without anything in it.

Making progress on the guest house makeover.  I finished painting most of the kitchen cabinets and will start painting the walls next. You can see the previous color of the cabinets and read more about my plan to update the space on a $200 budget here. Good news, so far I am under budget!

And finally, I wanted to introduce you to the newest member of the family. ‘Rosie Sunshine’, (Lily named her). She is a 3 month old Shitzapoo. We have been looking for a small puppy for Lily for quite some time now and are so happy to have found her. Potty training her is….quite fun, ha, just like the good old days when the kids were babies.

  1. Oh, look at that cute face. So glad you enjoyed time with your friend. Wow, your budget for your reno is less than just the counter top I had to buy for the bathroom not counting all the other things.

  2. Reconnecting with an old friend always great. I can't wait to see your guest cottage completed. Rosie Sunshine (perfect name) is adorable, she will bring years of sunshine to your lives.

  3. So cute. The dog. And so sweet to imagine all those two will be living together from now on.
You did well finding her a best friend of a canine kind… you have the room and she has the heart for it.
Sweet to read about your friend coming over. Best Friendships are like that, apart but not really, not where it mattered. And it warms my heart to read about it. Imagine the much you have lived in those years and now being able to share in person. I bet she was delighted with your sweet family and amazing home.
    Happy Spring Dear Laura!

  4. What a cutie! I'm sure things are quite different around your house with a new puppy in the mix. I'm sure she is getting a lot of love from you and the kids right now. Love the driftwood tray you found.

  5. Cute puppy face and love the name!! Awesome info on the serum. I'm using a Lancome product presently, after a switching from Estee Lauder (I spent too many years working a line, I'm department store hooked). Great budget makeover. $200, wow!! Love your little guest house. Ours is full of furniture, I want to cry. Kind of. Glad you had such a wonderful visit. Those are the best kind of days!!

  6. Your pup is a cutie!!

You are doing wonderful on that reno budget…can't wait to see the reveal!

Love the tray and totally need to start using something more on my face besides Aveeno!
