My Sassy Snowman

I waited quite a few years to become a mom…..and specifically a mom to a Sassy Snowman.

Oh….but it was so worth the wait.

Lily had her yearly dance recital this weekend, and it was so very very sweet. Her and her dance buddies on that stage, top hats and all, shaking their bums and dancing their little hearts out to the story The Snow Queen….and me in the audience trying to hold back my tears.

I think there were a lot of emotions running through my head during that 75 minute performance.
How grateful I am to be her mom.
Looking at all that innocence.
How proud I was of her to have the confidence to get up there in front of all those people and dance, even though she said she had stage fright.
How I will never get this moment back again and trying to soak up each and every second of it and…….. secretly wishing that the 75 minutes would never end.

I also realize, how very precious life is, and how quickly they will grow up.
Snowman today, teenager tomorrow….. still sassy.

ps- don’t miss the giveaway that I have going on here and here

pps- here we are with our Sassy Snowman after the performance.

grateful
to be her mom

So precious…God knew the desire of my heart and brought her to me! Enjoy these years… I know I am. By the way, you take beautiful photos, too. 🙂

  3. She is so cute! My daughter was in dance for 15 years and it was one of the best experiences. You are so right though, it goes by fast, enjoy it while you can.

  4. Oh, Laura! She is precious! What a darling girl. I have gone to 15 years of dance recitals and one is as emotional as the next!!! We should have invested in kleenex!!! Beautiful pictures of your family!!!

  5. She's adorable in her costume!! I know these are precious times. I love the pic of you and your family.

  6. I was the mom who cried at the first recital. Through the whole thing, the sobbing ugly kind of crying. I was so impressed by all the little girls, the confidence. I bonded after that with the dance teacher who to this day is still one of my BFF's.
