The Perfect Margarita for Cinco De Mayo
I will look for any excuse for a reason to sit back, celebrate, and be able to enjoy the perfect margarita for Cinco De Mayo. I thought it was time to share how I mix up the perfect margarita so you are all set to celebrate on May 5th….. and all summer long.
Here’s how to mix up a single serving of the perfect margarita for Cinco De Mayo
- Fill a glass with ice water to chill
- Add 1 shot of Patron ( or any other tequila)
- Add half shot glass of cointreau or triple sec
- 1 lime and 1 lemon squeezed
- Add a splash of fresh-squeezed orange juice or Agave Nectar. I prefer Agave Nectar.
- Add a splash of simple syrup cooled ( this is a mix of equal parts water and sugar) find simple instructions here. * you can also use sweet and sour mix
- Add ice then use a cocktail shaker to mix all of your ingredients.
- Rim your glass with lime wedge and dip in salt. *optional
- Pour over ice cubes for your on the rocks perfect margarita
For the record, I didn’t become an amateur cocktail mixologist overnight. I am sharing my opinions about why you want to use the right tequila and the differences between Cointreau and triple sec over here. All of which, are things that I am sure you have always wanted to know about…right?
