3 Ways to use a wood pedestal

I love when stuff in our home is pretty and practical.  Especially when it’s stuff that has multiple uses. Like 3 ways to use a wood pedestal. Which happens to be my favorite wood and marble pedestal.

pedestal-3-ways

Today, I’m not only sharing 3 ways to use a wood pedestal in your home decor,  my Decor Enthusiast pals are also sharing ways to use some of their favorite home decor items too. You will find all the details and links at the end of the post.

First things first.

Once upon a time, pedestals were more commonly known for displaying pretty baked goods or other foods. Cake Plates as they are commonly called, come in a variety of sizes and finishes. I have several cake plates, pedestals (whatever you want to call them) around the house. I use them in a few different ways around Duke Manor Farm.  Today I want to share one of my favorite pedestals, and 3 ways I use it in my decor.

Display Seasonal Decor

3 Ways to use a wood pedestal

What a perfect way to elevate your pretty seasonal decor on a table, don’t you think? By placing small decor items, flowers or candles on your pedestal, you instantly add dimension and height. Here I placed some plaid pumpkins from here on the wood and marble pedestal and paired it with some wheat grass for my side table.

Display and hold kitchen gadgets

The marble and wood pedestal is almost like an open basket. I use it to hold a few gadgets on the kitchen counter. Having them on the pedestal rather then in an enclosed basket allows for easier access to the things that I want to quickly grab or use while in the kitchen. Display baked yummies

My most favorite way to use the pedestal…. and for obvious reasons. Since things this good don’t usually last around Duke Manor Farm, it’s not a deal breaker that this pedestal does not have a cover for any leftovers. When displaying baked goods it’s typically placed on the counter or table and not for storage.

Speaking of yummies, next time you mix up a batch of cupcakes, use a wide tip and place your frosting in the middle of the cupcake. Top it off with a premade chocolate leaf on top. If you are better in the kitchen then I am, you can probably whip up the leaves with no problem.

Don’t forget to sprinkle some candy corns on the pedestal for extra cuteness!

I’ll save you a cupcake.

Each of my Decor Enthusiast pals are sharing their favorite decor pieces as well. All things that I would love to have at Duke Manor Farm.  Be sure to visit each of the links below.
