The beauty of Ultra Violet is you can go really bold or inject the color in small doses and still get the same affect. The key is balance when it comes to Violet.

Using Violet in my own home?

Here’s a few examples of how I have come close to using a ‘shade’ of violet ( or plum depending on who you ask) without looking like  one of my kids have sprinkled grape juice all over the room. Surprisingly, this hue goes well with many other colors.

  1. No, I won’t be using it in my home again. My bedroom was painted that color back in 1976. Yikes! Not going there again. Lol
I love the touches of violet in Cassie’s home and the dining room, with a healthy dose of white, is beautiful.

  2. When my husband and I built our home in 1999 we painted our master bedroom a beautiful periwinkle color (lavender/blue) that changes with the way the sun hits the room. We put white plantation shutters in and have white crown molding s against a white ceiling. Our bed is a wooden king size and the carpet is soft white Berber.
I am still in love with it as it is so soothing and relaxing place to be.

  3. Wow, decorating with purple truly are beautiful. I have touches of purple in our small powder room, but never thought to paint and decorate with it on a larger scale. However, after seeing what you did with purple paint, I must change my my. Thank you so much for waking me up to trying new designs/paint colors.
