Catching up at Duke Manor Farm

Hellllooooo!  It’s been a couple of weeks since my last post here on the blog. Summer break will do that  to you. I thought I would pop in and play a little catch up at Duke Manor Farm with you….and because I missed ya’ll! I hope you are enjoying these summer days.

The kids and I headed down to South Florida for a couple of weeks to hangout with my family. My mom recently got a new condo in Jupiter, Florida that is right across the street from the beach, so there was no need to go our traditional beach rental route this summer. While we were there, we were able to celebrate a milestone birthday for my brother and check off something on my mom’s bucket list.

Something on my mom’s bucket list was to get a new family picture. The timing was perfect as everyone could be there. I set up my tri-pod right in my mom’s backyard, yelled smile and hit the timer. My Mom is so happy and I was pretty pleased that for so many people almost everybody was smiling….except for that ‘teenage grin’ in the front.

What I a currently reading

When we weren’t at my mom’s, we hung out at my sisters. Her backyard pool and patio are such an oasis. I snapped some pictures and hope to share her beautiful home on the blog soon.  Lounging poolside I was able to catch up on some reading. Right now I am juggling between the southern side of paradise (I just love the entire series) and some not so exciting books on how to understand the teenage brain. A good friend of mine who is a psychologist recommended this book and this one to help me get a better grip as this is all uncharted teenage territory. Oh boy.

Have you ever paint poured?

While in Florida we had a paint pour party one night. I took a poll on my instagram stories and I was surprised that many had never heard or tried the paint pour process. I am certainly no artist but this is art that I can get into. I’ll put all the details together along with some art that we completed and share with you soon.

In a few hours I will be  picking up Lily from her week long 4H camp and I can’t wait to hear all about her amazing week. I had my doubts the first couple of nights as she hasn’t been away from home before, and I didn’t know if I would get the ‘come get me at midnight’ call. No call must have meant she had a great time.

I’m not the only one that missed her!

Have a great weekend!
