Fall Tour 2019 at Duke Manor Farm

Fall Tour 2019 at Duke Manor Farm

Admittingly it was tough getting my fall mojo in gear for today’s tour. Temperatures in Northeast Ga are warmer then usual ( like 10 degrees hotter for this time of the year) and the pumpkins I was able to find, could potentially turn to puree if things don’t cool down some. Thank goodness for a few mum’s, pumpkins and some seasonal color to easily transition our summer homes into warm and inviting fall spaces.

Fall Tour 2019 at Duke Manor Farm

Welcome to this years Fall Home Tour hosted by A Stroll Thru Life. If you are visiting from Cristina’s at Remodelando Casa welcome. If you haven’t been to her home, which is the previous house on the tour, you don’t want to miss her latest project…..amazing in every way….. and the fact that she did it herself is so impressive.

We are a house seasonally divided here at Duke Manor Farm. Most of the family and rooms in the house are holding out for these last days of summer. I am the only one in the family who longs for Fall to arrive as soon as it ends each year. Spring is a close second.  Because I am the one who decorates the house, I took it upon myself to get the front porch, kitchen and family room ready for my favorite season of the year…..Fall!

Fall Front Porch

When it comes to decorating for a new season, the front porch is generally where I start. This year I got some new plaid pillows ( from HomeGoods) since I was going for an overall ‘orange’ color scheme. The large wreath graced the fall porch last year and I really didn’t see a reason to get something new. You can see last years porch and how I made the wreath look fuller here. I got all the orange colored mums on super clearance at Lowes ( because they were making room for new one’s) and stuck them in baskets from around the house.  In between the rockers I have planters filled with ornamental grasses and yellow lantana. Two plants that should go the distance in this heat. The throws on the chairs are out here if in the event we should get below 90 degrees and get cold 🙂

Kitchen

My inspiration for the colors in the kitchen area were decided when I saw these plum covered velvet pillows on sale. I already had one so I got two more to use in the family room. From there I saw the botanical print from Lily and Val. The watercolor beside it, was something that my sister painted. Grocery store flowers in deep plum colors helps to tie everything together. For added color (and when we are not using the table) I have a folded throw in a deep plum color on the table instead of a table runner. You can see last years  table here where I used gold tones.

Family Room

Other then the two new plum pillows, the fall family room is styled with pillows and throws from around the house. In fact, I used most of these pillows in another space a few years ago when they made their debut here. I am a big believer that pillows can single handedly change any space in mere minutes. That’s why I have ‘just’ a few….I lost count. The fall stems and pumpkins around the room were items that I have used in previous years. When I purged holiday bins a few years ago ( best thing I could have done) I was mindful on keeping just a few good pieces in a couple colors  that I could use for years to come. Now when I open those seasonal decor bins it is not overwhelming when that cover comes off and I can really enjoy what I am putting out.
