Duke Manor Farm Notables Vol 9

Duke Manor Farm Notables Vol 9 includes the newest members to the family, great deal on swimsuits, and beautiful daylily blooms around the property.

Hello sweet friends! Welcome to this week’s Duke Manor Farm Notables…vol 9. You can catch up on last week’s notables here. I hope you all are doing well, despite the unsettling times that we are witnessing. With the events unfolding over the last couple of weeks, I forget that we are still in the middle of a pandemic. We are aren’t we?  I have only been out publicly three times since March. The post office, the nail shop, and to the Flooring Retailer who is doing my new floor installation. You can get all caught up here on my big flooring project going down this week. To say I am beyond excited to replace my 17-year-old carpeting would be an understatement. Honestly, though, the carpet has served my house very well and several people have mentioned that it doesn’t even look that old. I hope they say the same about me!

I am doing what I have always done and raising my kids to do the same…..love regardless.

Duke Manor Farm has grown

We welcomed two new baby goats last week. What an exciting time and they are so darn cute. This is a first for us to have baby goats. Dad is Jack ….the goat that followed my husband home from a jog a couple of years ago. Back at the beginning of the year, we got 3 new female goats and they apparently wasted no time. The kids have named them Marshmallow and Oreo.

Great Swimming suits

I found this company a few years ago and have been buying my swimsuits there ever since. I was skeptical at first since most of their suits at under $30.00. After the first suit arrived and the quality and fit met my expectations I continued to purchase more suits. These are a few of the latest that I bought to wear this upcoming swim season.  They have so many colors and patterns to choose from. For size reference, I wear a large in the suits. I am generally a size 10.

Summer blooms around the property

Duke Manor Farm Notables Vol 9

A sure sign that summer is about here is when my orange daylilies go gangbusters. Years ago a friend brought me a few flowers to plant on the walkway. She dug them up on the side of a mountain in North Carolina. Yes, this started as 14 plants. Each year I dig some flowers up to move around other parts of the property…and the following year I’m delighted to witness more blooms. I can’t tell you enough about how easy daylilies are to grow particularly in hot climates. Last year I added some to the sign and they are filling in so nicely. These daylilies are the gift that keeps on giving.

Tomorrow I am sharing my Joys of Summer Tour 2020 around Duke Manor Farm. I am happy to bring some summer inspiration to you from outside of my house, particularly as things seem to be so negative and stressful lately.  There are 30 tours throughout the week with tons of pretty summer inspiration. You can start here with today’s homes and see my last year’s Summer home tour here.

Have a great week!

Grateful

for grace when I need it the most
