My New Waterproof Hardwood Floors – All Your Questions Answered about the product, how it’s installed and why I chose it

I am squealing with delight over here ever since I got my Raintree Waterproof Hardwood Flooring from Twenty & Oak installed last week. Since I have posted my entire flooring project here on the blog and social media ( instagram, facebook) I’ve received some questions and interest in the flooring product. I wanted to provide you with some answers and some additional information that will be helpful if you are considering waterproof hardwood from Twenty & Oak. You can thank me later.:)

What is Raintree waterproof hardwood?
Combining real hardwood veneer with a 100% waterproof rigid core, Raintree is a revolutionary new hybrid flooring that blends style with performance. How is it different from engineered hardwood?
The biggest difference in Raintree and traditional engineered hardwoods are that they are WATERPROOF ( which is so amazing) and the make-up of the core is unique. By combining real hardwood veneer with 100% waterproof rigid core, Raintree is a hybrid flooring. It really is a perfect flooring solution for busy families with kids and pets.
Why did I choose waterproof hardwood and not luxury vinyl planks?
The biggest reason I choose Raintree is that it has real hardwood on the top layer. Since I have hardwoods on the upper level of my home, I wanted consistent flooring throughout the house. Not that we plan on selling Duke Manor Farm, having hardwood floors adds to the overall value to my home and is the most desired flooring out there. LVT ( luxury vinyl tile) and LVP ( luxury vinyl planks) mimics hardwood but isn’t the real thing. Although I have seen pretty LVT and LVP, there is a pattern repeat to it meaning you will see the exact same board repeated over and over again. With Raintree, every plank is unique as you can see from the image below.
I love the natural variation in real wood and the authentic design it creates. In real hardwood floors, you never see the same board twice.
How do you install it?
Waterproof hardwoods are a milled tongue and groove, meaning the pieces are cut to fit together. This means the installation was glueless. In fact, once the floors are installed and you say goodbye to the installers, furniture can be moved back and rooms put back together. My Raintree floors were installed over concrete in most of my rooms. In the game room since I was installing the floor over tile, my installer applied a primer and filled in all the joints to smooth out the floor. This option saved lots of money so that the tile floor would not need to be fully removed prior to installation. Your qualified flooring installer will be able to assist you in deciding the best options if you are laying over tile.
