Easy Heart Shaped Rice Krispie Pops

The classic Rice Krispie is shaped in a heart, coated with chocolate, and sprinkled with love. These easy heart-shaped rice krispie pops are a perfect treat for Valentine’s Day.

Warning, these are some big ole hearts….but so is mine.

Welcome to this month’s Cozy Living Series. With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, I’m sharing Easy Heart Shaped Rice Krispie Pops. You can find all my cozy living posts here.

After I assembled this Valentine Charcuterie board a couple of years ago, the kids kinda expect a fun, sweet treat for Valentine’s Day. This year I took the classic rice crispy treat, shaped in a heart, and put it on a stick. I also coated them with white chocolate and sprinkled some little hearts.

How to make Easy Heart Shaped Rice Krispie Pops

You can follow any Rice Krispie treat recipe but here’s what I do: This makes about 12 large hearts or 24 squares.

  • Melt 1/4 cup butter in a saucepan over medium heat
  • Add 2 1/2 cups of mini marshmallows. The minis are easier to melt down
  • Add 6 cups of rice krispy cereal and stir all together
  • Place in a greased pan and let cool
  • optional- add 1 tsp of vanilla

steps to make rice krispie treats

Create your heart shapes

Take your heart-shaped cookie mold, spray it with cooking oil so the rice krispie won’t get stuck. On a piece of waxed paper, fill the heart with the marshmallow Rice Krispies. After you press the cereal in good, lift the mold off.

Assemble the ‘Pop’

Let the Rice Krispie cool for a few minutes. Take lollipop sticks (I use these) and dip the ends in melted chocolate. Place stick into your heart-shaped rice krispie, carefully. The chocolate at the end of the stick will help secure your heart and stick together. I use Wilton white chocolate melts. Follow melting directions on the package.

Time to decorate

Now it’s time to decorate with chocolate and sprinkles. Since my hearts were big, I spooned my melted chocolate on top of each heart instead of dipping them in the bowl. I used 1 1/2 bags of this chocolate to about 12 hearts. I actually ordered the chocolate melts from Amazon this time since my local grocery store didn’t have any in stock…among other items.

Let your chocolate dry for just a couple of minutes before putting sprinkles on. Let the hearts sit for at least 20-30 mins before packaging or putting them on a plate.
