Waterproof Hardwood Flooring Review After 5 Years
Here’s my waterproof hardwood flooring review after 5 years. Why I waiting so long, I’ll never know.

Five years ago, we decided to install waterproof hardwood flooring on our lower level of the house. It had been adorned with 17 year old carpeting. With an active family, pets, and plenty of muddy shoes making the way around the house, I knew we needed something beautiful but tough.
I chose Aspen Estates from Twenty and Oak . Its a brownish/grayish color and the perfect neutral flooring. Now that it’s been half a decade, I can honestly say this has been one of the best home updates we’ve made to the house.

How the Floors Have Held Up
Everyday Durability
From sunup to sundown, our floors see it all— boots, spills, dog paws, and constant traffic. After five years, the surface still looks polished and intact, with no warping or fading. Even the high-traffic areas have kept their finish.

Waterproof Confidence
Life happens—spilled drinks, wet bodies coming in from the pool, with no towel in sight. In every case, our waterproof hardwood delivered. The boards never swelled or buckled, which is a big deal if you’ve ever lived with traditional hardwood.

Low Maintenance
Aside from regular vacuuming and the occasional swiffer mop, these floors don’t ask for much. No sanding, no refinishing—just a simple install. You can read about the installation here.
Why You Shouldn’t Wait to Replace Old Flooring
If your floors are scratched, warped, or constantly worrying you about water damage, now’s the time to upgrade. Waterproof hardwood isn’t just about looks—it’s about peace of mind. You don’t realize how much stress old floors cause until you stop tip-toeing around spills and scratches.

Plus, replacing flooring instantly updates a home. It makes spaces feel brighter, fresher, and more welcoming. After living with ours for five years, I can’t imagine going back to anything else.
Final Thoughts
Our waterproof hardwood floors have truly proven their worth. After five years of everyday life at Duke Manor Farm, they’re still as beautiful and practical as the day we installed them.
