Hey friends! I hope your weekend is off to a great start. It’s been another full and meaningful week around Duke Manor Farm.

Family Fall Break Ideas: Beach Trip, Fishing, and Cozy Home Projects

Family Fall Break Ideas

We spent a few days over Fall Break soaking up a little sunshine with our besties — the girls headed to Orange Beach for some coastal fun, while the boys spent their days fishing. It was the perfect mix of relaxation and adventure, and just what we all needed to recharge before heading into the busy weeks ahead.

I have never been to Orange Beach, Alabama which is sandwiched between Perdido Key and Gulf Shores Alabama. We stayed in a condo right on the beach and it was perfect. I thought the area had all the conveniences (shopping, food) without being overly touristy and crowded.

Whether it was our toes in the sand or tackle boxes by the lake, it felt good to slow down and enjoy some time doing what we love most.

Latest DMF Project

The DMF team just finished up a project in South Georgia. The client wanted to add a lean-to (think carport) on their existing barn. The goal was to make it look exactly like the original structure, which was built years ago. Here’s the before and after.

I think we accomplished it! You would never know it was added on. If you want to know more about the services DMF offers click here.

Family

It’s hard to believe how quickly the senior year is flying by. Each month my son’s friends have a monthly senior dinner. This month it was our turn to host and I decided to also include the moms. Best. thing.ever.

We ate dinner, played a game (how well do you really know your friends) and just had a great night telling stories and laughing. The boys loved it and the moms really needed it! I love these kinda nights and the reminder to slow down and savor every bit of this season.

I ordered the kids graduation cap and gowns this week and I was having all the feels. Happy, sad, excited.

Lily ran her last regular cross country meet of her senior season. The team now is getting ready for sectionals and state. I will miss missing my favorite distance runner and the rest of the team.

On the Blog This Week

In case you missed it, here’s what was on the blog:

What We’re Watching / Loving

I watched ‘The Perfect Neighbor’ on Netflix this weekend. True (but sad) story about a not so perfect neighbor. If you have an extra hour and 1/2 it’s worth the watch.

I mentioned that I am binging Greys Anatomy. I am up to Season 11. Can’t get enough.

My HP office printer recently crapped out so I bought this Brother and love it!

It was time for a new vacuum so I got another Shark.

I was having a ‘Summer I turned pretty blue door moment’ and decided to refresh some of the exterior doors in a color called Blue By You-PPG. I love the coastal vibe it gives up…especially since I live nowhere near the coast! 🙂 Not totally convinced I will keep it long term ( it reads a bit more green in person then I would like) but it’s good for now.

Blue by you door with pumpkins and mums at Duke Manor Farm

Thanks for hanging out with me today, friends. I hope your weekend is filled with something cozy, creative, and full of heart. It’s raining and dismal here today, so I guess that means I’ll be watching more Greys Anatomy! 🙂
