Monday Musings….new tile, pumpkins and no eggs yet

I found this tile at Home Depot on clearance a few months back and decided to do a few updates in the laundry room.  I need to cut and place a few more tiles around the electrical outlets ( one more unfinished project to add to the list)  and then I can show you what I have done to the space.

A few weeks back when I was ordering these for the front porch, I went ahead and ordered this ‘cake plate’.  Ha. Not sure what size cake they eat, but doubtful any cake that I make will fit on it, so I am using it to hold my favorite candles instead. I should have known better when the price was $6.95. Still, super cute.
Getting ready to make a pineapple upside down cake for my husbands birthday… his favorite. Hmmm, I wonder if it will fit on that ‘cake plate’ ?
This year, I am growing pumpkins in my garden. Should be a lot of fun in the fall to have our own Pumpkin patch for the kids and their friends. If you want to grow them, they require a lot of space in the garden and if they are planted by July, should be ready to pick in the fall.

Remember these guys, they have have really grown…… No eggs yet.

Got any tidbits you want to share?

Have a great rest of the week!

Grateful~
Good rain for the garden…and the chickens

  1. Hey there my friend! There is no need to cover that beautiful cake plate with a whole cake!! I'm so glad we got to hang more this year, and even decorate together. I still know our table decor was the best! And you are one of the finest!! Until next time. XO

  2. I think the cake stand will hold my portion, I love pineapple upside down cake. Hope you get eggs soon, although I don't remember when they start to lay. It took our ducks a while to catch up, but now we have three duck eggs almost every day, and 2 chicken eggs.

  3. The snippet of your laundry room looks so nice! You would cry if you saw my little laundry room. It's more of a walk in closet really. There are no windows, no cabinets, no sink, and nothing pretty. Purely functional and even that is not that good. I hope to have a much better one in my next house! Love the idea of planting pumpkins in your own back yard! Your kids will love that. Hope they do well for you.

  4. BTW, don't throw out the pineapple top. You can make a centerpiece by filling the spaces between the leaves with short-cut flowers. I used daffodils once and it was beautiful.
