Project Mudroom……. Complete

Some statistical facts about my Mudroom.

It’s the most traveled foot of real estate in my home.

It’s the area that more dirt and red Georgia clay reside then any other spot in the house.
It’s the space more of my guests will walk through, then the front door…without even knocking.
The total number of shoes that are assigned a cubbie, 243….and only one belongs to me.

First and last thing you see when you walk through the door…besides the dirt

Other things you will see as you walk through this space

  1. And my favorite thing about this space….. It’s a place I know I can always hang my hat…right next to ‘dad’

Here’s a progression of how this room has evolved over the last 12 years.

PS- I got those fabulous stripped rugs from Home Decorators Collection the same place I got the bench 15 years ago.  The pillows covers on the bench I got at H&M for next to nothing.

grateful
that my husband is becoming a morning person…thanks to me and our 3 mile walks every morning

  1. You're SO lucky to even have a mudroom! I have always wanted one. Love how stylish yours is. You can't beat H&M for cute inexpensive pillow covers either.

  2. Love the final outcome! Our H&M here doesn't sell pillows, at least I've never seen them at the store.

  3. Your mudroom is great, has come long way with your talented decorating. Our mudroom is merely an area to pass thru to our room/bathroom and our laundry is on one side of it. We have our computers in here now also having bunches of problems with router. Only thing is computer is too darned handy so spend more time on it than I ever should. Have to actually turn my head so I don't look at it and let myself be waylaid by it. I mean once in while I have to do some things besides play on here.
I'm envious of your wonderful mudroom and how it's laid out. Very nice looking for people to enter thru unlike ours. The whimsical photos are so cute. And your great bench. In winter people/us come into our front door right into l/r and have to deposit all our boots, shoes, etc right there. Not pretty. You did great job of prettying yours for habitation.

  4. Wow, you deleted my comment about the sign? I tried to be quite kind and point out something that you might not have considered about the possible un-friendly aspects (and racial connotations) of telling certain people to come in the back door. I'm so sorry if you were upset by that. I assumed that you didn't mean to suggest that certain types of people weren't welcome, but apparently I was incorrect. Blessings to you – I won't bother you again.

    1. Leslie- I think the only thing that upset me is someone making an assumption that I would treat anybody differently. I think if you followed my blog you would see, that is totally not who I am. Thanks for stopping by.
