Sunday Musings- OMG Makeover, sunflowers, paint decision, next project

This is my OMG makeover moment. And no, I do not miss the cherry stain walls…or those curtains for that matter.

I am always thrilled to see fruits and veggies pop up in the garden that we can eat, but just as excited to see my beloved sunflowers. I plant enough to cut, giveaway and keep. Besides, they do not do well if kept in the garden because of their height and will fall over.

Putting this project together…..after the kids head back to school. And I blame it all on those coral pillows that I picked up at Kirklands a few months back.  Darn you pillow, darn you! btw- The cute throw is from Target and is the perfect summer throw.

Not much around the house….or in life gets me stressed to the level that I am feeling right about now with the exterior paint choice for the house. After a while these choices just start looking alike. The painters are coming in two weeks and I  think I have landed a decision. Sedate Gray by SW ( bottom color in the images). When the job is costing a pretty penny, I guess it’s wise and smart to scrutinize and agonize over the decision.

Enjoying these last few weeks of summer break and tomorrow is my husbands birthday (along with my sister, niece, cousin and a friend) so me and the kids are going to give him the best gift we can give, and love on him like crazy!

Have a wonderful week!

  1. That's a big difference in this room—I still love that you take different directions with things like the clocks. And the exterior color? My gosh, I couldn't get any sleep when we talked about painting our shutters!!

    Good luck!!

  2. Wow! Goodbye 90's hello 2015!!! Amazing! Can't wait to see the new paint job. I stress over those decisions too. Seriously. Have spent the past 2 months stressing between shades of white for the kitchen cabinets! I just don't want to have to do them again. EVER!!! Happy Weekend, my friend! 🙂 Linda

  3. Love the fabrics shown. That does happen when looking at paint similar in color after a while. Painting the house outside takes much consideration. We have live with it for quite a while

  4. Happy Birthday to your hubby, sister and friend…there certainly will not be a lack of love around your house….but then again, there never is!….Hope you are enjoying your weekend and I am sure you are relieved that you made the paint decision….

  5. That is one amazing transformation. Time warp!! Happy Birthday to your hubby, and the rest of the gang. I get to celebrate on Saturday along with Brooke, Beaufortbelle's daughter who is coming for a visit.

  6. Love, love the new fabric. I'm truly thinking about broadening my horizen a bit and adding some pops of color. Thinking of adding some blue to my white and some coral to my aqua.

  7. Happy Birthday to your husband today! June is a big birthday month for us, so i guess yours is July. Your makeover picture in your sunroom is remarkable. I hate looking back at old pictures of my house from years ago when I had so much color and clutter. I shake my head in disbelief that I actually liked it that way. I think I had toured too many home shows where the trend then was more is more. Looking forward to seeing what you'll be doing with your new coral pillow etc.. The samples you've put together look so pretty together. Good luck with your exterior painting project. I think the color you chose is pretty.

  8. WOW I can't believe you only have a few more weeks left for summer break…we just started week 3 of ours!
I love the colors you chose for the exterior of your house…they're all pretty can't wait to see it finished!

  9. Happy Birthday, Fred! Your family room looks so fresh and up to date. Picking exterior colors is not fun. The color you picked looks white on my screen and just remember the larger the area the lighter it will look. Not trying to make you second guess yourself or lose sleep or anything. 🙂
