Fall at Duke Manor Farm

Welcome to Fall at Duke Manor Farm.

I had every intention of taking you on a walk with me around Duke Manor Farm on a beautiful Fall Day before today. In fact, I have been looking forward to it ….since last Fall. We could walk around the farm on a crisp fall day, with a blue sky as our backdrop, watch the chickens play with the donkey, see the kids play in the leaves, as we witness the most amazing fall color on the trees, but….. it’s rained the last 11 consecutive days in Northeast Georgia…..and I got sick.

Consequently, this is what happens when it rains nonstop around here. That’s one of our boats that normally sits on the shore.

But despite the rain, the sore throat and coughing,  I got the camera out anyways and took what I could….. cause I didn’t want you to miss it and have to wait another 365 days.

I wish I could tell you this last picture is my Fall fashion shot, but it’s the less glamorous side of having a farm…in the rain and feeding animals. But I do have some stylish fall boot and outfit  ideas here.

Rain or shine I still love this time of the year around the property and the beauty we are blessed and privileged to see during this season.  And even though there’s not blue sky or crisp fall air out, thanks for taking the walk with me anyways.

I hope you are enjoying every minute of Fall….rain or shine.

  1. What beautiful shots and great fall color. So sorry you have been sick along with this never ending rain and gloom. Looks like a break may come today and especially tomorrow!

  2. So sorry you have been sick.
The pictures at Duke Manor farm are wonderful! I love the trees and the carpet of beautiful leaves.
It truly is Fall at your farm, rain or shine, nature has given such a gift to us with her colors.

  3. I know I say it a lot but you live in such a great place, your land is awesome. And I laugh whenever you talk about the chickens and the donkey in the same sentence.

Take care of that cold–if you read my blog you’ll know that i’ve battled some sort of flu for the past 4 weeks. I finally got on antibiotics two days ago. SO stupid of me to wait.

We have been dry here in northern Illinois but tonight we have severe storm warnings with winds up to 50 mph. Not our typical weather, especially this time of year. I’m sure I won’t sleep.

    Take care, Laura.

  5. Just gorgeous! We are all so blessed to be free to take a walk or a ride and just enjoy these gifts from God!

  6. Absolutely beautiful! You are fortunate to have such gorgeous scenery around you. We are envious of the rain out here in dry Southern California. Hopefully we will get some soon!
