What I have been doing lately

I have been spending a lot of time in the yard cleaning up the landscape beds, pulling weeds and fertilizing the grass before it gets too hot. Hard to believe a few years we said good bye to the red clay out back and replaced it with sod. Look how well it is doing. If you are laying sod anytime soon I am sharing here what I did to get our lawn full and lush. If you want to see the before of the same view click here….shocking, but in a good way.

What I just bought

Speaking of backyard. The other day I took my chances on a $46.00 umbrella for the backyard. I was pleasantly surprised at the size and quality, I ordered 4 more for around the pool and patio.  Honestly, there is no difference in this umbrella and some of the more expensive one’s that I have ordered in the past. I also bought a couple cans of this to provide additional protection from the sun.

My next project

Look at the deck in the above picture. Yuck.  I have plans to paint it and either buy a rug or stencil one on the deck.  With so many good inexpensive rug options out there I may just go that route.

Dogs have the life

I couldn’t help but smile when I saw this the other day on the front porch. Ah yes… sometimes I wish I had four legs and wagged a tail.
