Fall Crafts using spray paint

Fall Crafts using spray paint that you can easily do using items from your home and a can of spray paint.

Welcome to this months Thrifty Style project where I am sharing a few Fall crafts using spray paint. You can catch up on all of my thrifty style ideas , projects and tutorials here. Let’s face it, there’s not much I won’t spray paint around here….well probably not hubby and kids. For such little cost, you can make such a great return in transforming just about anything…that can be painted. Today’s projects include spray painting glass, burlap and fabric. Let’s go!

Fall Crafts using spray paint

Transform a plain glass vase

When I was doing a little Fall decorating I wanted to add a bit of gold to the bottom of a glass vase to give it a bit more interest. I took a piece of frog tape ( masking tape would do as well) to create a straight edge and sprayed the bottom portion using Metallic brass spray paint. This isn’t the first time that I have sprayed glass items. The tip for adherence and a smooth finish is to make sure you clean your item first to remove any dust, grease or dirt. When spraying less is more when applying your paint. You can easily go back and add more coats rather then trying to remove over sprayed areas and starting all over.

Paint brown burlap orange or black

This was a fun project I did using natural burlap and creating an orange pumpkin wreath using orange spray paint. I had so much fun I made another wreath using black paint. I was on a roll! 🙂   Although it took a bit of time to cover the burlap ( front and back) this was a simple project that any level crafter could pull off. Stencil a pillow using spray paint

For this project I used a generic pillow cover that came with an outdoor furniture. You also need some wood letters ( B and O’s) and orange spray paint to create a ‘Boo’ pillow.  Basically to create this ‘Boo’ pillow you  position your letters and spray paint the pillow. After the pillow was dry I washed it to get any smell and stiffness out. . You can see more details here. The pillow is such a cute addition to our Halloween decor.
