Nutcracker Inspired Holiday Tablescape Idea

Nutcracker Inspired Holiday Tablescape Idea with DIY napkin holders that are super simple to put together and would be perfect on any holiday table.

I had a light bulb moment the other night as I was replacing the paper towels. Jeez, how about I create napkin rings with the empty tube and fresh sprigs from the tree? My internal voice responded with ……why that sounds like a wonderful idea and highly practical since I don’t have ‘seasonal’ napkin holders. So with scissors, glue gun and pieces from the Christmas tree, I made these  cute and super easy napkin holders for the Christmas table that I will be setting for my family next week.

You may have see the plaid throws and our nutcrackers in my holiday home tour. If not, you can take the tour here. This year I used the throws as my tablecloths as well. Next I scattered the nutcrackers and candles down the center. I practically had my work cut out for me….except I didn’t have napkin holders that would jive. Luckily for that light bulb moment, I was able to come up with the napkin holders. I have had the red dishes for at least 15 years and bring them out every year at Christmas. The white plates are my everyday dishes.

Steps to make the Napkin holders

Cut you tube in pieces that measure about 2 1/2 inches.

Take your fresh green sprigs and hot glue around the tub covering it completely. If you don’t have fresh, faux would work as well. I cut from a King Noble tree with super soft and pliable branches.

Slide your napkin in and place at each setting.  I got these black and white napkins at HomeGoods and I use them year round.
