Traditional Holiday Kitchen at Duke Manor Farm

Happy Holidays and thanks for joining the Holiday Tour of Homes hosted by 11 Magnolia Lane. Each day this week, different rooms and areas are being shared and today it’s all about the kitchen. The full line up with all the links will be at the bottom of this post. If you are like me, you’ll have so much visiting each home. If you are visiting from Emily’s beautiful kitchen and home at Eleven Gables, welcome. I am so glad that you came by to see my traditional holiday kitchen at Duke Manor Farm.

Breakfast Area

Almost everything in my holiday home this season are things that I kept when I did a major purge last year. It felt so good to get the holiday bins out this year and be able to actually use the stuff that I was storing. Something I did pick up which actually set the entire tone for my holiday home this year were the plaid throws from HomeGoods. I was able to pull in colors from the throw in my dishware, pillows, nutcrackers and ornaments on the tree.

A throw does double duty on the table to instantly add color. I pulled out some ruby red dishware that I got years ago from Target. It was one of those 75% off sales that I couldn’t pass up. A family of brass deer, everyday black and white napkins and pretty roses complete the tablesetting.  I love the winter vibe that the area gives off.

Kitchen

It wasn’t hard to add a bit of festive cheer in the kitchen without things getting in the way of day to day life. Little nutcrackers, small candles and a few of the kids homemade plates and trivets fill the space. The simple touches put us in the holiday mood.  Of course washing dishes and being able to see the Christmas tree is a bonus….especially when your the only one who seems to know how to do dishes in your house.

I hope you enjoyed my traditional holiday kitchen tour. Remember, it doesn’t take a lot to make a festive, happy place…that should make you smile. I would love for you to visit again by signing up for my emails or following me here or here. Next up on the tour is Amy’s house over at 11 Magnolia Lane.

Happy Holidays!

  1. I love your beautiful kitchen and how open it is to the dining room, breakfast area and to see the tree too. Love the plaid, so pretty and perfect for Christmas. Your mantel on the fireplace is so pretty too. Such a warm and inviting space.
