Beach Vibe Bedroom Reveal

Beach vibe bedroom reveal using calm, tranquil colors of the sea using soft neutrals and texture. This is a sponsored post with Mohawk Home. All opinions about the fabulous rug are mine.

When I asked Lily how she wanted to design her ‘beach vibe bedroom’ she had three requests. She wanted color , wood, and a hanging swing. Mission accomplished.

If you followed my new floor reveal here, Lily’s makeover was part of the plan. Parting ways with the pink that she had in there for 10+ years was not easy, but looking at her refreshed space makes me just want to chill….and go to the beach. I think the star of the show could very well be the Sea Striped rug in a beautiful watercolor pattern. Which was why my artist loving gal chose it. I actually started to paint her room in a color called Bali Bliss from SW before receiving the rug ane PET rugpad and surprise…it was a perfect complement to the color on the walls and looks absolutely fabulous in her room. I love it when things work out that way, don’t you?

This rug is part of the Prismatic collection which are uniquely designed printed rugs. Since it’s great for high traffic and children’s rooms, I knew it would be perfect for Lily’s bedroom. Better yet it’s stain-resistant and durable but still has soft touch. The various colors in the rug allowed me to pair it up with soft neutral pillows on her bed.

The cats and small dogs occasionally hang out in the kid’s bedrooms so having a PET rug pad was an obvious addition to the rug. Its moisture barrier backing is perfect if the animals get a bit excited playing with the kids and have an accident. I have the rug pad on top of my new waterproof hardwood floors but it is dual surface and can be used over types of flooring. Another feature of the rug pad is that it is reversible so it allows you to get the most use out of both sides.

In a nutshell here’s what I did to transform her space.

  • New hardwood flooring- Aspen Estate Crevasse
  • Added the new Sea Striped Rug and Rug Pad from Mohawk
  • Added texture by putting wood on two of her walls and painting Pure White (SW)
  • Painted the other walls Bali Bliss ( SW)
  • Repainted an old wicker dresser in Pure White  Semi Gloss
  • Added these shelves for knick-knacks and these for her books
  • Got new artwork (over her bed) and a new mirror (over her dresser) from Home Goods
  • Installed a hanging hammock swing that she got as a birthday gift
  • Bought a new comforter set that I only paid $35.00 for! I can’t find it on-line any longer

We still need to add a few more shelves and find something for the wall leading into the bathroom but for now, my girl is just chillin’ away in her Beach Vibe bedroom. Seeing the way she loves her bedroom and cuddling with her kitty, makes doing projects like this so worth it.

I hope Lily’s Beach Vibe Bedroom Reveal inspires you to create your own beautiful space…or maybe even go to the beach! To see the before of her space click here.

Grateful

for my precious girl
