A New Color Combo in the Family Room
Most may say paint can undoubtedly change a room’s look. I don’t disagree, but I think pillows and throws are right up there too. I recently introduced a new color combo in the family room and I am loving it. I’m usually one to change up my pillows and throws most seasons, although I plan on keeping this combo through the winter months as well.
Gray was already present in the room, but I decided to pull in the olive when I stumbled on this rug for the Dining Room ( can’t beat the price and quality) and decided to get a smaller version to layer on the jute rug. Since these rooms are somewhat connected, I wanted the spaces to flow together.
New Pillows
In addition to the new rug, I added in a few new pillows. A recent trip to HomeGoods to pick up some Fall candles (they have the best selection and scents, don’t you think?), and of course these beauties made it into my cart. I love the various textures and how the new pillows work with these pillows ( called Moss on the website) that I have had for a while.
The backstory of the room
This once upon a time ‘intended screen porch’ is now such a cozy space in our home. One of my projects last year was painting the room Agreeable Gray. During that time, I also painted the kitchen and Dining Room that you can see here. One day I plan on changing out the windows ( these were a fast and furious move to get the room dried in when we were building our home) but for now, they give us the most perfect views of the backside of the property, and soon enough all that fall color.
Some fresh eucalyptus, fall candles, and the room is ready to usher in my favorite season of the year. Who else is ready for the fall season to start?

Beautiful combo! The room looks peaceful and welcoming. Fall is my favorite too, however, it’s still triple digits here in Texas! 😱
