Office Makeover Using Compass Blue by Behr

Office makeover using Compass Blue by Behr to refresh my white walls and add a bit of dramatic flair and classic style.

As I mentioned in my weekend hangout last week I was ready to embark on a painting project weeks before Christmas. I mean, it’s not like I have gifts to wrap, holiday cards to write out and baking to do. So with paint brush in hand and a gallon of paint it began.

Office colors throughout the years

If you have been around Duke Manor Farm awhile you have seen my office grow up through the years. I like to think it’s like fine wine, and only gets better with age.

It’s been a while since I have really done anything to this space. The walls needed a refresh so my wheels started to spin. Since I still love the wallpaper that I hung years ago, I wanted to work with a color that would complement the navy blue pattern.

Last weekend I brought in a piece of the wallpaper to have it color matched but when I put it on the wall it was reading more royal blue than navy. So I started looking at the paint colors and found a color called Compass Blue by Behr. It’s the perfect match and navy blue.

This is my starting point. I have wallpaper on this wall and in the bookcase. I used an eggshell finish on the walls. It took 2 coats and a gallon of paint to cover the space.

It’s time to let go

I have been using my husbands ‘Bachelor dresser’ for the last 22 ish years in my office. Over the years I have tried my best to work with what I had, but it’s time for the thing to go. I have these two pieces in my cart to use as a credenza in my office. I’m hoping Santa thinks I have been exceptional this year or the purchase will have to wait until after the New Year.

I haven’t decided if I am going to paint the ceiling or not. Letting the excitement of the navy walls sink in….at least until the holidays are over.
