Simple ways to refresh for Fall

This weekend is the official start of Fall, so there’s no time like the present to start sprinkling in hints of my favorite season of the year. Although it looks and feels more like summer on the outside, that doesn’t mean we can’t make it all cozy and fall like in the inside.  I am excited to partner up with At Home Stores to help usher in the fall season around Duke Manor Farm with some simple ways to refresh for Fall.

Simple ways to refresh for Fall

I love At Home Stores. They have everything you need for your home for inside and out…..and more. A little background. I use to live in Houston back in the early 90’s and would shop at Garden Ridge. How many remember that store? Well a few years ago At Home Store bought Garden Ridge, so I feel like I  have had the same great shopping experience for over 20 years.

Cluster small vases in seasonal hues.

I love to group various sized vases to put on the mantel or table. As soon as the leaves start to change I will fill the vases with fresh cuttings. When they are this pretty though, it’s not always necessary to have them filled. You can see the other ways that  I used some of these vases in my Fall Tour here. The round wood piece helps to add in another element when paired with the vases. I realize it’s not technically Fall yet, but with the large assortment of glass vases that the At Home Store had,  I couldn’t help myself and picked up a few to use at Christmas time. Gasp….I know, but it will be here before you know it.

Add a seasonal colored runner

Adding a runner to my kitchen table was probably the easiest thing I could have done to instantly add seasonal color.  I paired it with an amber colored vase, a scented candle and a sweet little pumpkin and placed on top of a pedestal. Using a pedestal on the table helps to give it some height and visual interest.

Pillows and Throws

Although I could have gone crazier then I did in the pillow section at At Home ( see my At Home Hightlight in Instagram so you can see what I mean) I chose a few pillows that work with one’s I already had and so I could create a fresh new look in the family room. This blue patterned blue pillow with tassels works well with the rust color that I added to the room for fall. Since it’s a big sectional, I always like to have a smaller pillow in front of the largest one, and I added a mongolian fur one for extra cozy.  As I like to say, more pillows the merrier. I don’t really say that, but how true is that?

Add one large seasonal piece for impact

You don’t need a lot of seasonal decor to help make the statement. Sometimes its just one piece that helps to define the message. How cute is this pumpkin patch sign that I placed on top of my kitchen mantel. I flanked it with the mustard pumpkins to add some color to my white kitchen.  Since I am a traditional pumpkin color lover, I bought some orange one’s too.

Towels and the little extras

As easy as it was to throw the runner on my kitchen table, it was just as easy to add a few new kitchen towels. Since I was using mustard colored accents, I picked up a few new towels in the same colors to tie it all together. I always find that it’s changing up the little details that help to create the most impact in your space. The selection of linens and towels for the kitchen is so amazing that there is a color for every kitchen.

Speaking of color, I just love my newly painted blue kitchen island. You can read more about that and some of my favorite painting tips here.

A little extra that added to my kitchen were these amazing blue bowls. Although not your typical fall color, they pair so well next to the orange candle. We use these bowls almost daily and like to keep them out for easy access.

So there you go. By adding just a few new items from At Home Store, mixxed in with my current decor or seasonal items I created a fresh and new look for the Fall season. The store is really a one-stop shop for all your home decor needs. You can find an At Home Store near you by visiting the store locator on AtHome.com.

Enjoy the Fall Season!

PS- Next week I’ll be sharing my screen porch all decked out with some Halloween pillows that I picked up AT Home. I hope you will come back for that! I’ll also be sharing a few more Fall finds  on my instagram here
