5 Simple Spring Wreath Ideas

This is the first year that I can remember that I cheated on my front doors. I bought a store wreath. Not like it’s the end of the world, they are pretty and I love how they look on the front doors.  The truth is, I was in a hurry and needed to get something up before my company showed up that night. I definitely can feel the absence of putting together my own creativity….and saving a few bucks in the process.  I wanted to share 5 Simple Spring Wreath Ideas that you could do this weekend….if you are in the creative mood.

Wisteria

This wreath made from Wisteria blooms in my garden was so simple to assemble. Although I used wisteria, anything blooming from the yard could work. The main component of any wreath is the base. I always like to use a grapevine wreath to start off with. Make sure you have some good pruning shears and cut away. You can find more details here.

Using Baskets instead of traditional wreaths

Who says’s your wreath has to be a round ? This Spring how about trying something else like a basket filled with moss and pretty spring blooms. What I love about this is you can fill it with any seasonal item and use it year after year. Other then what you want to display in your basket, make sure you have enough moss to fill in the bottom of the basket. Easy enough but here’s more detail.

Good Ole Burlap

I made this burlap wreath 7 ish years ago and it still is a popular pin on my site. If I were to make it again, I would probably use the plastic faux like material they sell now so the wreath could last many years. This one did not, so I made it a few years later in blue.

Use live plants

This live ‘basket’ that I did last year is probably one of my favorite wreaths that I have hung on the door. Not only does the fun pink and white ribbon yell spring time, the use of real plants and flowers gets me so excited. After a few weeks on the door, I was able to transfer everything in the basket to other containers or to the garden. Talk about the gift that keeps on giving. The best part about it this wreath, it took no time at all to put together. Basket, soil, plants and you are good to go.
