Turning white grout white again

Turning white grout white again on tile floors is super simple. You will be amazed at the transformation in a matter of minutes.

I wish I knew you 20 years ago when I was building my house. Maybe you would have talked me out of using white grout on the white tile floor in my boy’s bathroom. Ugh. Not one of my best design decisions. Nothing against white tile or white grout, it’s just so tough for me to keep clean on the floor and to look as fresh as it did the day it was installed.

A couple of years ago I showed you here how I used this product on my tiled countertop in the game room. Life. changing! The Rejuvenate grout pen instantly whitened the grout. It turned the dull and dingy grout lines into lighter and brighter ones. At the time I bought enough to do the boys bathroom which I finally got around to the other day. Better late than never.

I wanted to share with you how easy the pen is to use and how amazing your floors will look. If you can color with a magic marker, you can turn your white grout white again. Let me show you how.

Not one of my better pictures to share here on the blog, but just keeping it real. You can see how the grout is less than white. Before using the grout pen make sure your floor is clean.  You can see where I started to use the pen in the top right corner.

The pen is basically paint for grout. So you simply take the grout pen and follow the grout lines. I found that over stubborn stains, I went over it twice. When I was finished, I took a dry soft cloth and wiped any excess of the tile.  I let it dry for a few hours before walking on it.

Now to finish the shower and toilet area. Joy, Joy.

If you have white grout, this stuff is for you. If you have any additional questions about this product or process, leave them in a comment or send me a DM.

Grateful

for a wonderful first week of school for my kiddos

  1. Wow, Laura.
That’s such an amazing transformation and easy too.
I kinda feel like an original “Stepford Wife” (1975 original movie) , getting all excited about restoring grout-lol.
    The tile looks beautiful.
Good luck to the kiddos in the new school year.

  2. I’m so glad to finally see something to work on dirty white grout! We built our house 1 year ago and I had to have white grout in the master bath but the workers stained it with this red Georgia clay! I’ve been living with it but now I can make it white again! Would they have other color grout pens? Like gray? Thanks for the tip!

  3. I love this, Laura! I’d like to try it in one of my baths. Did it take a long time to do?

    Super job!!!!
