Weekend Hangout at Duke Manor Farm #10

I find it shocking that a dress in a box, sitting in your closet for the last 23 years can actually get smaller! Just like that. Like how in the world does that happen? 🙂 Lily and I were watching Say Yes to the Dress last weekend and one thing led to another. I guess you can say my love had grown over the years, in more ways than one. Okay, in my defense, the zipper was broken and I couldn’t zip up, although it was a bit snuggish.

How about you…..do you still have your dress? Have you tried it on lately?

What’s new at Duke Manor Farm

Although fall is right around the corner, we had a bit of a nature tease last week. The temps were in the 50’s in the morning, high 70’s in the daytime, and no humidity at all. That’s my kind of weather. How about you?

Morning view of lake with fog coming off the water.

This is the backside of our property which sits on 25 acres. This small lake was actually quite a surprise when we first looked at this property. The brush was so high that we couldn’t even see it. That’s all it took to seal the deal. We have the lake on this side and a small creek on the other corner of the property. You can read all about the history of Duke Manor Farm here.

I am trying to stay relevant (according to my kids) and have fun with my brand and finally created a Youtube and TikTok channel. My strategy on what I want to share isn’t clear yet. Right now it’s recipes, projects, and views from the property that I may have not shown on the blog yet. I hope you will take a look and subscribe to both of the channels if you are not already.

Fall Project

I have been putting out some of my fall decor this week. I don’t go crazy but do enjoy adding pillows in fall colors, swapping out for heavier throws, and adding a few pumpkins throughout the house.

I was in the mood to make a new fall wreath for a large grapevine that I like to hang on the garage. Because of the purge I did a couple of years ago I had no autumn florals or picks, so I picked up a few at Michaels.

Here’s a peek at what I am doing. I’m going to finish it up this weekend and then I will share. Nothing I do is overly complicated, just tuck and go. Aren’t those colors so pretty?

My closet needed a few new pieces so I picked up this jumpsuit and these lightweight cardigans in gray and rose color. Perfect pieces for the fall into the winter season.

  1. Okay, so first of all if I could even begin to fit into my Wedding dress all these years later I would celebrate that alone!!!! Sadly I’m now single but just saying. You should embrace that body, lol. And I have to look back on your property pictures to see the creek and yes the Lake and creek would of sealed the deal for me also if I could of afforded it. Such beauty God has given us.

  2. Hi, I really like the jumpsuit & the cardigan, unfortunately the links aren’t working for either of these items. The links also weren’t working in the email.
