Bathroom makeover using paint

Bathroom makeover using paint and a little time to create a beautiful space that you will love

I am trying not to get ahead of myself this year and start new projects without showing you projects I finished in 2020. I do that sometimes. đŸ™‚Â   I actually started this makeover back in August, you can see my plan here, and finished up in late October. Although I haven’t completely checked off everything on my list ( still need new faucets) I consider the space to be finished….for now. I say now because we do have a full renovation planned for this space sometime in the future. Almost 20 year old bathrooms sometimes require bigger more costly changes.

Until then, I am enjoying the look and feel of my bathroom makeover using paint. I said it before and I will keep on saying it, nothing can transform a space like paint can. Since this makeover was about updating the look without spending a lot of money, I wanted a color that would work with both the floor and shower.  My cabinets got a totally new look with a  color called Mossy Bank and some modern gold hardware. Surprisingly this last minute cabinet color choice exceeded my expectation. You can see the entire process and my tips for painting cabinetry here. It was time consuming, but well worth it.

The walls also got painted  in a color called SW Agreeable Gray at 25%. The color is a great complement to the rest of warmer colors in the room.  To add a bit more  warmth to the space, I  used brass in the mirrors, lighting and frames.  I found the mirrors here .  The woven chair adds nice texture and a place when I sit down to put my face on. I found the print in the below picture on Etsy and used an existing frame and painted it. This is a view towards my closet….which is next on the project list.

  1. This is a great refresh of your bathroom. We built a home 26 years ago, and when we hit the 20 year mark we did a complete redo of our main bathroom. Everything went – but it was a job that stretched out over a year’s time. First was the bath tub, faucets, tile, shower door and flooring. The next year we redid the 5 foot vanity, granite, lighting, towel racks and paint. It wasn’t so overwhelming and it was kind of fun taking our time picking out items, and it was really cost effective by spreading it out. Fast forward 6 years and I have already updated towels, linen closet storage, accessories, etc. to fresh it up.
