Weekend Hangout at Duke Manor Farm Vol 1

Hello and Happy New Year! Welcome to the weekend hangout at Duke Manor Farm!

I guess I am taking the holiday break and recovery time off from my hip surgery a bit longer than I expected. Although it’s a beautiful thing to give yourself a mental rest and some grace for doing it from time to time…. just a few hours to several days can do wonders both physically and mentally. I do plan on being back to a regular blogging schedule this month. The schedule will be a couple of times a week and include the ‘Weekend hangout at Duke Manor Farm’ (what I am calling it in 2022) which I will publish on Saturday. The hangout will be a bunch of fun randomness as if we were hanging out in real life or talking on the phone.

I am week 5 of my recovery and so far so good. You can read all about why I needed surgery here. I did have one minor setback this week and slipped on the back deck due to some frost.  Needless to say, I was so scared and freaked out (the first thing I asked was “did my hip pop out”?)  but thankfully no dislocation just a bit roughed up and sore. I am going to be sharing more posts including surgery and recovery in case it could help someone else with a future hip replacement.

Projects I am waiting to start

I have a few projects that my hubby is helping with until I am fully recovered and able to comfortably get on ladders, paint etc. One project we started between Christmas and New Year is giving his office a complete refresh. It was not a pretty sight. Like at all. I will share more about my vision and our progress so far early next week. I am giving myself the rest of the month  (since all the painting is finished) to style and set the space up for him. It’s gonna be good.

A few other projects on the shortlist this year are:

  • Painting the kitchen island ( it needs it)
  • Convert Lily’s art room to a family workout space
  • Give our Media room a refresh
  • Hang my new lamp in the Living Room. Apparently, it’s just been sitting at a Fed Ex facility ( like 5 miles from my house) for three weeks now.
  • Give my office a new look. Not sure what that means yet.
  • Finish refresh in the guest house. Painting, lighting etc.

Did I ever tell you the love story about this table? Get your tissues ready.

Too good not to mention

This was under the Christmas tree. If you need a decent and very affordable Bluetooth speaker, look no more.

I got sucked in on Instagram and am glad I did. These cream to powder eyeshadow sticks are so good. I ordered the Champagne Shimmer and Pink Metallic. Suddenly I feel like a hottie….. and it does wonders brightening up around my eyes. 🙂 I typically never wear eyeshadows.

This was the best family gift ever….especially when it’s do darn cold to go outside.

What caught my eye

Speaking of Instagram (follow me here) I came across this image and had a moment. So gorgeous with so many questions? Would you, could you?

Travel and Leisure

Speaking of so good, I have watched all 3 episodes of The Established Home on Amazon Prime and anxiously await the next show. You can also watch it on Magnolia Network. I’ve been following this designer for a good bit now and love her updated traditional, classic style, besides her love for family. Go watch it.

Have a terrific weekend!

PS- is there anything else I should include in the Weekend Hangout at Duke Manor Farm? Let me know in the comments or send me a DM.

Grateful

for an amazing recovery

  3. I love the makeup tips! One of those eyeshadow sticks is in my cart because I could use a little brightening up myself! Glad to hear that you didn’t pop your hip joint out of socket!!!
