Weekend Hangout

Welcome to the weekend hangout. I am dishing about latest projects, latest buys and just random stuff that I think you will enjoy.

So long February. No wonder why the month seems to have flown by, I got Colton’s cap and gown proofs the other day and I am a wreck. Is it just me but senior pictures seem so expensive. I wish I could remember how much they were back in my day, but I bought ONE 10×14 print of the senior picture (yearbook shot) and it was $100 ! I guess when you have a selection like this to choose from of your senior, it makes the spend worth it? Seriously????

Weekend Hangout

This project was well worth it

We have been enjoying the game room so much since we surprised the kids with the reveal at Christmas time. It has quickly moved up as the favorite spot in the house, particularly with the kids and their friends. To hear the sounds of ping pong, darts being thrown or good ole fashion Wii being played , it’s all music to my hears and exactly why we refreshed the space. I still haven’t done a full reveal …but I will soon.

The next project

Okay, I’m not even done with the small project I shared here (sorry son) but I have already moved on to something bigger and better. We have an area over our garage that serves as multifunctional spaces. One side is my husbands office, and the other side is my craft room with my oldest camping out in the corner as his gaming area. My goal this year was to go room by room and tackle any updates and unfinished projects. This area was on the list.

Room being painted

I actually started phase one of the office makeover two years ago (with partial paint and a new desk) and I am coming back around for phase two. This time I am also adding a fabulous new rug and lighting for the entry stairway. My biggest splurge is probably the paint for the space.

Other randomness

  • Garden plans and seed starting are under way. We are going to have a busy summer so I am keeping the garden manageable. I’ll be following these steps before Spring shows up to get the garden into shape.
  • Were you affected by the cell phone outage this past week? Once the weirdness of no service set in, I actually liked not being tethered to the phone …….just like life was before cell phones. Oh, but those poor kids! They didn’t know what to do with themselves.
  • I love these New Balance shoes so much that I bought two pairs. Thanks to my grandmother for a wide foot, these shoes are perfect.
  • If you are looking for a cute and clean movie to watch with your teens check out the Perfect Date on Netflix.
  • I bought two of these pillows that were on sale at PB for hubby’s office.

Thanks for stopping by for the weekend hangout. If there is anything you want me to include in future hangout’s, feel free to message me.

Have a wonderful week ahead!
